Here are some frequently asked questions about Sweet Wishes...
How long does a class last? Usually classes last between an hour and a half to two hours depending on the type of class you'd like and the group size. What do you get when you have a class for a birthday party? If it's a candy class, each child will make eight different types of candy. Included might be a flip- flop lollipop, candy molds, M&M bark, chocolate covered Oreos, and others. Everyone will decorate their own candy box with markers and stickers and then fill it with the candies they created. They'll also be given recipe sheets with instructions for all their treats. If it's a cupcake class, we'll decorate four different cupcakes which they'll take home in a provided container. Most parents skip the "treat bags" as each child brings home quite a bit from either class. Remember, all supplies are provided for both types of classes.
What ages do you recommend? For a candy birthday party, I suggest ages six and up. While younger kids can handle most of the candies, it may get too for long them. For cupcake decorating classes, ages ten and up are best. Little hands have a harder time holding the decorator bags. Where do you get your supplies? I like to shop at Lynn's Cake and Candy Supply. She has a great selection of supplies that are difficult to find elsewhere. She's located in Fridley on University Ave. N.E. and Mississippi. The number is 763-784-2186. If you're going to go to the trouble of making homemade candies, use the best ingredients available. You'll definitely notice the difference in taste!
